How to remotely install Synergy on a Raspberry Pi?

If you don’t have a keyboard and mouse but only a screen, you might need to install Synergy remotely on a Raspberry Pi via SSH.

These are the steps to follow to install Synergy remotely on a Raspberry Pi:

  1. Download Synergy and rename the installer file to synergy.deb

-code-> rename download to synergy.deb-/code-

  1. Transfer the file to your Pi (example: 192.168.1.15):

-code-> pscp synergy.deb [email protected]/code-

  1. Once the file has been transferred to your Pi, do this:

-code-> sudo apt install ./synergy.deb-/code-

-code-> sudo mkdir -p ~/.config/lxsession/LXDE-/code-

-code-> sudo touch ~/.config/lxsession/LXDE/autostart-/code-

-code-> sudo nano ~/.config/lxsession/LXDE/autostart:-/code-

-code-> ~/.startsynergy.sh-/code-

-code-sudo nano ~/.startsynergy.sh:-/code-

-code-#!/bin/bash-/code-

 -code-killall synergyc-/code-

-code-sleep 1-/code-

-code-synergyc --name pi 192.168.1.15-/code-

-code-exit 0-/code-

 -code-sudo chmod 777 ~/.startsynergy.sh-/code-
