James Olmsted 0 Posted September 20, 2015 Share Posted September 20, 2015 I just purchased and tried to set up Synergy on my two computers. One I use for personal stuff and the other is my work PC, I want to be able to control both with my personal PC mouse and keyboard. I have the server running on the personal PC just fine, the port is opened and showing as open on canyouseeme.org however on the work PC (which is set up as a client) it keeps saying failed to connect to server: Timed out The IP is correct, both are on the same network, and I've opened up the windows firewall on the server PC. No idea why it won't connect any help would be really appreciated. Link to post Share on other sites
Ben Koenig 1 Posted September 22, 2015 Share Posted September 22, 2015 When you set up your client, are you using a hostname or the actual IP address. Also I think that the website you mentioned shows open ports for your ISP. These ports and their IP address are different than ones used for Synergy. Can you tell me what the address is you entered for your server, and if you have "Auto-Config" checked? Link to post Share on other sites
