the rpm is made for RedHat but you can try it on opensuse. for a refund you can always contact symless.

sorry for the late reply,

can you try doing this?

sudo chmod 777 /var/log/synergy
sudo chmod 777 /var/lib/synergy
sudo chmod 777 /etc/synergy

this is in the debian package, this might be needed for opensuse too.

I've managed to install it on OpenSUSE by creating symlinks to openssl / libcrypto libraries:

ln -s /lib/libcrypto.so.1.0.0 /lib/libcrypto.so.10
ln -s /lib/libssl.so.1.0.0 /lib/libssl.so.10
ln -s /lib64/libssl.so.1.0.0 /lib64/libssl.so.10
ln -s /lib64/libcrypto.so.1.0.0 /lib64/libcrypto.so.10

- now I just need to figure out how it works ;) . I've started Synergy on both machines, see a configure window and have no clue what to do ;) .

Nice! Official OpenSUSE support coming soon.Have you raised a support ticket yet? https://symless.com/contact/customer-support

I did - but for other problem (can't use GUI - it passess the "--name" attribute which makes Synergy2 as a server fail on linux side) . Undirectly though - yesterday I had a problem with support form on the site.

Should I pass the info on creating symlinks for OpenSUSE through support portal as well?

version 2.1 is "due early 2018."

Actually, it got pushed back. It's now mid-2018. Sucks, I know.
