Windows version now connects and works.

Now the problem is exclusively on the Linux guest. It can't properly bind and connect.

Your background service is crashing. Could you send the service log?

Log files can also be found on your file system.

Windows: C:\ProgramData\Symless\Synergy\
Mac: ~/Library/Synergy/
Linux: /var/log/synergy/

they are already attached in previous post

this is a problem more linux people seem to have, if I dont have this problem on this pkgbuild.

did you reboot your system(just checking) I havnt found alternatives for all the deb-helper commands for arch(inside the pkgbuild, or .install) so it might not restart the service properly.

and check this post(same problem)

@danalec the servers are a bit slow, aperantly the link wasnt inserted

Indeed I've rebooted already.

systemctl status described earlier says the service is running, the service is up!

I will rebuild the pkgbuild from scratch then, brb

so before I rebuild the PKGBUILD

I will:

pacman -Rscn synergy2-bin
sudo rm -rf ~/.config/Symless
sudo rm -rf ~/.cache/Symless
sudo rm -rf /var/log/synergy

pff, me typing a whole essay about things you could to, you just hadnt started the synergy-config yet.

nice clean rice btw, just a shame you are using chrome;)(firefox 58 nightly is really nice, it just take 2 months for the maintainer to update the pkgbuild).

No
it does not work, it did not work

logs shows it was connected for a very short time but it was not.

also note that synergy-config shows wincore (which is windows) turned on but not core (linux), both windows and linux synergy GUI looks the same

also note firefox-nightly is crashing in i3

can you send your arch core logs? the service seems to be running fine and the connection is made.

or can you try running this command manually?

/usr/bin/synergy-core --client -f --run-as-uid 1000 --debug DEBUG --name core --enable-drag-drop --profile-dir /var/lib/synergy --log /var/log/synergy/synergy-core.log 127.0.0.1:24800

if this doesn't work you'll have to fall back to v1, ill update my pkgbuild as soon as I notice that it has been updated.

maybe try reinstalling synergy on the windows system, it seems to be refusing the connection.

but after that, I honestly have to give up, have you tried contacting them at [email protected]?

if I find anything you could do, ill post it here.
