Two macs, no success at all, troubleshooting doesn't help

7 posts in this topic

Hi,

I have two Macs, one running Sierra, one running El Cap. They connect just fine using Synergy 1.8.

On both machines, Synergy 2 comes up, but doesn't see any other machines.

The El Cap Mac asks me to install the helper every time I launch it, and it never succeeds. There is no 'synergyd' in the process list. The console log shows the following every time I launch Synergy2:

9/19/17 9:06:58.558 PM synergy2[944]: Helper installed successfully
9/19/17 9:07:01.636 PM com.apple.xpc.launchd[1]: (com.apple.xpc.launchd.user.domain.501.100008.Aqua) Could not read path: path = /Library/LaunchAgents/com.symless.synergy.v2.synergyd.plist, error = 2: No such file or directory
9/19/17 9:07:01.851 PM airportd[70]: ERROR: synergy2 (944) is not entitled for com.apple.wifi.events, will not register for event type 1

The log for the El Cap Mac is here: https://synergy-logs.symless.com/2017-09-20/273-2017-09-19T21-10-23.log

The Sierra mac seems to have installed the helper o.k., synergyd is running.

The log for the Sierra Mac is here: Upload path: https://synergy-logs.symless.com/2017-09-20/273-2017-09-19T21-10-11.log

The system console shows the following errors over and over for synergy:

Something seems pretty broken with Synergy2. Any suggestions? I tried the troubleshooting, but it had no effect.

I'm having the same issue's. Mac Pro and iMac. beta 4 doesn't see them. Troubleshooting didn't help either.

This is similar to the issue I'm having. The Win 10 machine is green, but my Mac Sierra 10.12.6 shows up as grey (which I'm assuming is why they don't see each other). The helper comes up each time, which is a pain because I'm constantly switching the keyboard usb between devices to put the password for the helper in then use the keyboard on my Win10. Troubleshooting hasn't helped.

These issues will be fixed in beta5, which is due in about 4-5 weeks.

Thank you! Unfortunately I have to use a PC for work, but have come to love Synergy. It's always been easier to connect the Windows to the Mac rather than vice versa, so I figured the beta would have the same issue. I would like to point out, however, that version 1 has come leaps and bounds in updates and works much better when I connect using the Mac as the server, which I couldn't say a year ago. I'm looking forward to beta5!

You're right! I'm on 5 now and everything is perfect.
