throwawayname 0
Set up synergy on a mackbook air (client) running Sierra 64 bit and a PC (server) running windows 7 pro. The mac doesn't seem to be autodetecting the server and asks me to enter a host name. What should I do? Edited August 2, 2017 by throwawayname
throwawayname 0
I tried adding one of the IP addresses listed on the client, but I get the error: [2017-08-02T16:36:51] NOTE: connecting to '169.254.99.109': 169.254.99.109:24800 [2017-08-02T16:36:51] INFO: OpenSSL 1.0.2 22 Jan 2015 [2017-08-02T16:36:52] WARNING: failed to connect to server: cannot connect socket: Host is down

Paul Suarez 107
Hi @throwawayname. Your Mac machine is not showing an SSL fingerprint. Also, an IP address with a format of 169.254.x.x is not a valid IP address. It is an APIPA address.
throwawayname 0
How do I fix these problems? The address is the one shown in the server window. They are both on the same network. Edited August 3, 2017 by throwawayname
