Preetham

Hi ,
We are planning to deploy this in our lab networks & im testing it out now.
I use my macbook to move btw setups.
Please see attached image.
When i moved from my first setup1 to my 2nd setup , all works fine.
but when i move back to my first setup1 , Im unable to connect & make it work.

What went wrong ?
Can you help me suggest a fix ?

Thank

i'm always using the MacBook, The "hostname" of the MacBook , changes on the 1st Network , to "dhcp-blr-..." , & on the 2nd n/w its the default "preethamsmacbook".

I can see that in both n/w's they are able to communicate to each other , because when i move the positions , it reflects on the other screen.

let me know  what to try next ?

@Preetham It looks like you'd benefit from our profiles feature (coming soon). The idea is that you can have multiple setups and Synergy will automatically switch you between them depending on what network it thinks you're on. This way you don't need to reconfigure your setup every time you move your laptop between setups. Sounds cool, right?

In any case, I guess you're actually having a connection issue. Could you open the log window by pressing the tilde key ( ` )? You can then right click on the log to upload your log to us (paste the link in your reply).

yep that'll be awesome !

See the log below, this IP addr is correct of the other machine (97lbjc2 - 10.132.71.98),

Let me know what i need todo next?

Cheers,

@Preetham Seems that 10.132.71.98 isn't accepting incoming connections. Could you disable your firewall temporarily?

Firewall is disabled

Symantec is disabled

I'm able to ssh from the win-putty to the mac.

But it worked at first , until i moved to the 2nd setup & back, the config/setting of the first setup has not changed.

Do you want me to look at any port etc ?

Ah, could you open Synergy and hit F12 on the machine that you want to be the host?

cool ! It works !

A little details of what F12 did pls ? now I'm curious :)

Use this/F12 when i move to the other n/w too ?

It tells the computer to share it's mouse and keyboard. It's supposed to figure it out automatically but it's pretty flakey right now.

also, how do i delete the other machines for the interface ? I have about 5 now ..

That's coming soon. When a machine is renamed, it'll automatically be reflected on the config. Plus, we'll allow you to delete machines manually too. This should find it's way into beta3 (2-3 weeks away) or beta4 at the latest (6-7 weeks away).

read error: line 56: overlapping range

@Jerry Hou This one again. I hate this error. Make sure it's fixed in beta3 please.

@Preetham Try re-arranging your computers. This error happens if they're not perfectly aligned. And since the screen snapping code is awful right now, this will probably be tricky.
