G T 0
Hi I just upgraded to 1.7.1 and my Win7 Box is displaying the message "Failed to get local IP address. Please manually type in server address on your clients." My client computers (an Win XP and iMac running Yosemite 10.10) are still running Synergy 1.6.3 and have the server ip address but they are unable to establish a connection. I think I know what I did wrong. I installed a 32 bit version on a Win 7 64 bit machine. So I removed the old version but the 64 bit refuses to install because it reports there is a previous version installed. How do I manually uninstall the old version? Please advise. Jenel 1
The best option is to reinstall the 32-bit version and use that. The error can be ignored, but the server will not be able to broadcast the local IP address to the clients. You'll have to type it in manually. It should work without any issue.
