  2. Hello, I just upgraded to Synergy 3 in hopes they fixed gestures on my second macbook. No luck :( It obviously works well on my main macbook but it would be nice if I could use my trackpad to do a 3-finger swipe up to show all apps on my second mac. Also, the option button on my mac bluetooth keyboard doesn't work either. I have to use the keyboard on my second mac to get it to work.

  3. It would be awesome to have native V6 support in the Synergy app. For networks where the focus is to be v6-only or v6-preferred it's impossible to use Synergy without configuring IPv4 at the current moment. In Synergy 2 you could specify the full IP address of the remote computer but I found it didn't matter if I used hostnames with only a AAAA record or tried to configure the address manually, both with and without brackets around the address and wasn't able to yield any results. The synergy server would immediately crash and restart repeatedly with the v6 address configured. Additionall

  4. not sure when wayland support is planned, but linux is moving pretty fast in that direction. Doesn't effect me at the moment, but I'm sure my next upgrade will see wayland on my computer either alone or alongside X. Either way X is clearly on its way out.

  6. It would be nice to use my laptop's keyboard as the primary while working on the laptop, but still use the mouse from the desktop computer. I'd like to propose more granularity in choosing which host is the primary for which device.

  7. I have a computer that is connected to the network via wired Ethernet + Wi-Fi. In Synergy 3 beta on the server machine, I see 2 IP addresses, and the Wi-Fi address happens to be listed first. I am finding that client machines can use the slower connection by default even if from the client machine, the server is added manually by IP address (matching the wired connection). In the simplified interface, it's a little unclear how this works. I'd like a way for: 1) the server machine to allow specifying the default interface broadcast for discovery by clients 2) the client machine t

  8. Just wanted to let you know the android and Samsung Dex would still be great additions. I realize this thread started over 5 years ago but both android & Samsung have continued to move into daily drivers for so many people. Even if it doesn't have the copy & paste features initially, just the ability to share the mouse and keyboard would be great!

  9. Barrier is not developed any further at the moment. People who contributed to it now are flocking around input-leap. Waynergy was more like a workaround until libei was in better shape, I am not sure if this will continue as a project, now that there's a more defined way to do this kind of thing on wayland. So, my money is on input-leap. I'm running it on Fedora 39 on wayland right now. It's not perfect, but at least it's working again.

  10. Under the same Keyboard and Mouse section if you click on Hotkey configuration you can set a hotkey to Lock to screen. I haven't actually used that but I see that its available.

  11. It's under Keyboard & Mouse...Enable lock to screen. Then press Scroll Lock to lock to screen.

  12. Hi Tim, Thank you for contacting Synergy Support, I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing an issue with Synergy 3 on your set up. It appears that the Remote Desktop is keeping hold of the keyboard instead of the keyboard transitioning with the mouse cursor as expected, luckily there is an easy fix for this, could you navigate to the 'Miscellaneous' section in Synergy 3 and disable the option Take foreground window which should resolve this issue. Hope that helps and please let me know if there is anything else I can assist with? Thanks,FerasSynergy Support

  14. Hi, for Windows: I solved this problem by uninstalling Synergy. I also had to delete the Synergy folders in C:\ProgramData\Synergy, C:\User\***your user***\AppData\Roaming\Synergy and C:\Progam Files\Synergy. (first 2 are hidden folders) Somehow an older version saved the former IP Address in one of the config files. Nebst 127.0.0.1 there was also the old IP Address of my computer stored. (e.g.: locale.json in ProgramData\config\) After reboot and new install it worked. wbr

  18. I too tried ipv6, the server doesn't seem to bind to the ipv6 ip(s). I realize my use case is not very common but I have a network policy that when connected to a VPN, my local ipv4 traffic is being blocked leaving me with the option of using ipv6 or not being able to talk to local network.

  19. @Nick Bolton Any updates from the Symless team? libei hit 1.1.0 about 2 months ago. KDE is about to roll into Wayland territory by default. At this point I'm happy to give Symless another $50 to get Wayland support, if it means I don't have to waste a day fumbling around getting input-leap built and blunt forcing it into my Debian setup.

  20. Hello, I was just wondering if y'all have any plans to add Android compatibility to Synergy? I have an android tablet, and also now with the introduction of Samsung DeX would like to use that with my phone as well. If you created an Android app and charged for the app individually, I'm sure you'd get a lot of hits.

  21. Yup, same scenario. Laptop keyboard with desktop mouse. Otherwise, I've got to switch the mouse plug from the desktop computer to the laptop (and vice versa) every time I dock (and remove) my laptop on the desk.

  22. If I can do some very basic things on my tablet without having to pick it up and touch the screen, I'd be happy already. Just being able to use it as a basic second screen for a web browser or playing music without having to release my mouse would be nice.

  23. Hi all, There never seems to be any actual answers to this without a ridiculously overcomplicated dump of log inputs or other stuff, and it seems like this should be something that has been asked enough to be simple to solve. What is required to be put in the config file to take advantage of the extra mouse buttons on the client machines? They work fine on the server machine, but not on the clients. My setup: Server - MacBookPro1-codename Client 1 - MacBookPro2-codename Client 2 - MacMini-codename Mouse - Razer Basilisk Reading through other websites and

  25. I don't know at what point this issue started exhibiting itself, but for the longest time I thought it was some combination of Little Snitch rules and the iCloud Private Relay. But I uninstalled Little Snitch and disabled the Private Relay feature, and this issue didn't go away. So I reinstalled Little Snitch and told it to block 172.0.0.0/8 addresses, and that resolved my issue. You see, I created a different thread about this a month ago, but my Windows 10 server has several virtual network adapters, and Synergy recognizes all of them, for some reason (but no IPv6...?). And while my mac

  26. It's an issue with RC2, I reset Synergy on both, reinstalled RC1, rebooted both, configured them, and now I'm back up and running again. I might try and reproduce the issue with RC2 again this evening just to confirm I have the same problem come back.

The connection is working but the mouse is "invisible" (actual pointer on Ubuntu doesn't move but I can see when my mouse is moving over buttons that highlight. Also, the keyboard isn't working. I've reset Synergy on both machines, no change.

  28. Hi, I've a setup where 2 MacBooks are connected to 2 external monitors, and I switch between the Macs for the additional screen real estate as needed. I use either a KVM switch or a dock, depending on where I'm at (dock in the office, KVM switch at home). Synergy worked fine until a couple of months back, when I upgraded to Synergy 3. Now, the connection's wobbly most of the time, and the odd times I do get to move my mouse across to the client Mac, I can't see the mouse pointer anymore. I know it's moved as I see the highlights when it rests on some app in the dock, but I can't seem

  30. Hi there, I'm using Synergy 3 Beta, v3.0.70.34-beta, and I don't know where to post ideas, so I hope i'm in the right place. And sorry for my bad english. Ideas: 1 - Profiles, with different screen positions, since some computers can be notebooks and may change position, or with my situation where the main computer changes (more on that later) 2 - Use keyboard/mouse from any of the configured computers 3 - Keep computers from sleep, when keyboard/mouse is in use So, explaining... 31. How the hell do I make the new version use my keyboard shortcut to swap machines like the older version flawlessly does? Do I need to pay $30 to get back functionality the older version had? What a load of fucking horse shit this app is. Also the entire fucking design is garbage beyond belief. Shitty fucking devs.

  33. 2 - Why it's breaking the core concept? Synergy is about controlling other computers through a keyboard and mouse, right? Synergy 3 beta has the option to change the "server" (the one sharing its keyboard/mouse) with some clicks (open synergy, click continue, click on the three dots of the computer you want to "serve" and "Use this keyboard and mouse")... Well.. if this option is available manually, why not automatic? It's "just" (easy to say) a question of "which physical hardware is been used? ok, now this one is the server"... no?

  35. I have experienced a lag like this since first installing Synergy years ago. I found disabling TLS gets rid of the lag completely in my case. (4 computers, Mac server, 2 Windows clients, 1 Linux client) The security concerns of not having TLS encryption enabled are not something that worries me since all of my devices that use Synergy are on an isolated subnet.

  37. https://github.com/input-leap/input-leap/pull/1524 Not Synergy, but initial support is being drafted for input-leap, which is a fork of Synergy. I imagine since it's open source Synergy will get it eventually to. If I had to estimate I'd say we're still months away from an initial release just due to the sheer number of projects that are touched by these changes. The really tech savvy could hypothetically build all of these components with the patches and run it today on Wayland, in theory, but I do not recommend it at all. There's plenty of bugs, and glitches, but it's c

  38. I'm afraid this is going to be one of those unusual problems. Long time user of Synergy 1 Pro. I've been using it to control a rather "locked down" work laptop, and it's made my life infinitely easier. In all honesty, I was surprised it could connect with the latest work laptop, but it did. Many other apps simply aren't allowed, which brings me to my unusual problem. I'm using Event Ghost to trigger various macros from the host computer. It's capable of simulating key presses, so I'm trying to use some advanced features of Synergy as a workaround. Think of it this way: Event Ghost ca

  39. I saw several topics about wanting to launch the client (synergyc) on MacOS before the login screen just after booting. I am not sure if others have since found solutions but it seemed that there were issues with this after certain versions of MacOS. My purpose posting this is just to let the forum know that I got this to work on Monterey at time of posting and can answer questions if anybody wants to know more. Here is how I did it: Run the server (I think it is synergys) on Windows. I use win10 and am using the GUI. Write and make executable a shell script that starts the c

  41. to whomever this might concern: this can simply be solved by using pulseaudio system (it's *nix native, but has binaries for Windows and OS X AFAIK). server side can be configured by adding following line to default.pa (wherever it my be on your system, *nix default is at /etc/pulse/default.pa) load-module module-native-protocol-tcp auth-ip-acl=127.0.0.1;[column separated IPs or IP ranges] auth-anonymous=1 on server you can then list sinks with pactl list sinks and then tunnel the sound from client pactl load-module module-tunnel-sink "server=[IP OF SERVER] sink

  44. Nevermind, I fixed it myself. I'm running the client for my wife's computer inside a child process, capturing the stdout from synergyc and when her mouse enters the screen, I focus the window that synergy is running in (which sits off-screen so it's hidden). That's what it took to workaround this bug - simply having the window focused that synergyc.exe is running in will make the mouse cursor disappear when her mouse leaves the media computer. I noticed that, and then figured if I could capture the mouse entering and leaving, and auto-focus that window (using nircmd), it should work, and it di

  45. This took quite a bit of troubleshooting, and it's a bit of a hack. These settings assume you're using a Windows system as the server, and the Mac system is the client. What this will do to map your keys: Windows key 'control' will be 'command' on the Mac client Windows key 'Windows' will be the 'option key' on the Mac client Windows key 'alt' will be the 'control' key on the Mac client On Windows: Stop the Synergy service running in the background. Go to C:\Users\YOUR USERNAME HERE\AppData\Local\Symless\Synergy Edit the synergy.conf file as follow
